Bordier & Cie taps fintech Moonfare

Bordier & Cie Singapore, a boutique private bank, has teamed with Moonfare, a private equity fintech business, to give its clients access to top-tier private equity funds via the latter’s digital platform. The expanded collaboration follows a joint announcement made in December of last year.

Bordier’s strategic goal of increasing its range of services in private market investing is reinforced by this newest initiative; industry veteran Christian Skaanild was chosen as managing partner in 2020 after a career in private equity spanning more than 20 years.

Bordier clients now have access to Moonfare’s portfolio of top-performing funds, expanding the private bank’s existing offering of premier private equity and venture capital funds, some of which were previously exclusively available to institutions.

Private equity has grown dramatically in recent years, and with over USD4 trillion in assets under management, it is no longer a niche asset class accessible primarily to institutional investors.

The platform features the industry’s first digital secondary market, allowing investors to sell their holdings and providing liquidity to an otherwise illiquid asset class. Last year, the fintech company raised $125 million in Series C funding headed by Insight Partners. Vitruvian Partners has recently joined Moonfare as a shareholder and partner.
