UAB rolls out unique new payment card


United Arab Bank (UAB) announced its partnership with Toppan FutureCard for the launch of the Middle East’s first environment-friendly payment card which will be manufactured with a card core made entirely from 100 percent recycled PVC.

A ceremony was held to commemorate the signing of the cooperation agreement for the launch of Oxy payment cards, this was during the “Seamless Middle East” exhibition. 

The agreement was signed by Ahmad Abu Eideh, chief executive officer of UAB, and Jean-Pierre Ting, managing director of Toppan FutureCard.

“We are pleased to partner with Toppan Future Card for this milestone card project, and to be the first bank in the Middle East to introduce a payment card with a 100 percent recycled PVC card core,” Ahmad Abu Eideh, CEO of UAB, said.

Abu Eideh noted that the launch of the new card is part of the bank’s commitment to contribute significantly to the persistent efforts of the authorities of the UAE to reach its green growth transition goals. The lender also desires to keep pace with the times in providing offerings that protect the environment.
