RBC launches New Split with Friends Feature

RBC today announced the launch of Split with Friends, a new feature that allows RBC clients to conveniently streamline and manage group costs.

Split with Friends, a first for a Canadian bank, is available through the RBC Mobile App and allows clients to split the cost of an expense among a group of contacts, request money, and track who is paid.

The pandemic has transformed the way Canadians move money, with more people opting to manage their finances using their smartphones. RBC has witnessed a 23 percent rise in active mobile users since January 2020, and currently has 87 percent of its clients1 digitally active.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the monthly amount of e-transfers sent by RBC consumers has increased by an astounding 74 percent.

“The addition of Split with Friends to our growing list of mobile payment solutions is an exciting one as it provides our clients with a fast, convenient and secure way to manage group expenses, alleviating a common point of friction,” said Peter Tilton, Senior VP Digital, RBC.
