National Bank Analysts Cut Earnings Estimates for BMO


In a research note issued on Thursday, April 7th, investment analysts at National Bank Financial cut their FY2022 EPS projections for Bank of Montreal.

G. Dechaine, a financial analyst at National Bank, now expects the bank to earn $10.15 per share this year, down from $10.25 previously. Bank of Montreal’s FY2023 earnings are expected to be $10.86 per share, according to National Bank Financial.

On Tuesday, March 1st, Bank of Montreal revealed its quarterly financial reports. The bank announced $3.07 earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, $0.47 higher than analysts’ expectations of $2.60.

Bank of Montreal had a net margin of 26.09 percent and a return on equity of 17.71 percent. The company earned $7.64 billion in revenue during the quarter, versus a consensus expectation of $6.67 billion. The company earned $2.38 per share in the same quarter last year.

When compared to the same quarter the previous year, the company’s quarterly sales increased by 19.9%.
