Klarna Integrates ChatGPT Into Platform

Klarna, the Swedish fintech firm that offers online financial services such as post-purchase payments and payments for online storefronts, has integrated OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology into its platform to provide highly personalized product recommendations to its users.

The AI technology will be used to curate product recommendations and provide shopping advice to users, with links to shop those products via Klarna’s search and compare tool.

This integration, which aims to enhance the shopping experience for Klarna’s 150 million consumers, has already passed through a safe testing phase and is now available to ChatGPT plus subscribers in the US and Canada, with plans to roll out to other regions.

Klarna CEO and co-founder expressed excitement about the integration and the value it will drive for everyone. Klarna, which provides payment processing services for the e-commerce industry and is widely known for its “Buy now, pay later” (BNPL) service, was valued at $45.6 billion in 2021 but saw a decline to $6.7 billion in 2022.
