Former Gucci Executive Marco Bizzarri Launches Investment Firm

Marco Bizzarri, the former executive behind Gucci’s transformative resurgence, has embarked on a new venture, establishing an investment company following his departure from the Kering-owned luxury brand. Confidential documents obtained by Reuters on Tuesday revealed the formation of his latest endeavour.

During his tenure at Gucci, which began in 2015, Bizzarri played a pivotal role in revitalising the iconic fashion house. His strategic vision included the appointment of Alessandro Michele as the label’s chief designer, a move that catalysed a remarkable growth trajectory. Under Bizzarri’s leadership, Gucci’s sales soared, surpassing 9.6 billion euros ($10 billion) in 2019, prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bizzarri’s departure from Gucci in September of last year coincided with the exit of Alessandro Michele, amidst challenges faced by Kering in sustaining the brand’s momentum amid decelerating revenue growth.

The newly established company, Nessifashion, headquartered in Rome and founded in February, is poised to engage in investment activities and offer strategic counsel to partner firms, among other potential objectives. Documentation filed with the Italian Chamber of Commerce outlines the multifaceted goals of Nessifashion, signalling Bizzarri’s ambition to leverage his expertise in driving growth and innovation across various sectors.

Serving as the sole administrator of Nessifashion, Bizzarri maintains ownership through Nessi SRL, a holding entity with existing investments in real estate ventures and restaurant enterprises. This strategic move underscores Bizzarri’s intent to diversify his portfolio while continuing to capitalise on his extensive experience in business leadership and investment management.

As Bizzarri embarks on this new chapter, industry watchers eagerly anticipate the evolution of Nessifashion and its potential impact on the investment landscape, guided by Bizzarri’s proven track record of driving success and fostering innovation.
