FIS Launches Enhanced Mobile Banking App with New Features

FIS has released FIS Digital One Flex Mobile 6.0, a new version of its mobile banking application for financial institutions. This upgrade offers a simplified design, enhanced fraud prevention, and improved functionality, as stated in a press release on May 22.

“Mobile banking is now the primary method used by consumers to interact with their bank,” said Hashim Toussaint, head of digital solutions at FIS. “It’s essential that their applications are slick, intuitive, and rich with functionality.”

Key upgrades in the new version include:

  • Biometric login and authentication
  • User ID and password reset
  • Enhanced money movement capabilities, including internal and external transfers, bill pay, remote deposit capture, Zelle, and loan payments
  • Modernised accounts and transactions experience, featuring running balances, transaction details, and display of account and routing numbers

Built on a single platform, FIS Digital One Flex Mobile 6.0 aims to streamline the delivery of both mobile and online banking services, thereby increasing efficiency in management and customer support.

“Our financial institution clients are at the heart of what we do, and our primary focus is to help them drive growth in today’s dynamic digital landscape,” Toussaint added.

Data from PYMNTS Intelligence highlights the digital shift in banking, driven by younger consumers. Nearly three-quarters of Generation Z, about two-thirds of millennials, and more than 60% of Generation X use mobile banking apps for their banking needs.

FIS CEO Stephanie Ferris emphasised the need for financial products and services to be as accessible and seamless as popular streaming services. “Consumers want their financial services to be personalised to their specific needs,” Ferris noted during the company’s investor day on May 7.
