CommerzVentures, a fintech investment firm based in Frankfurt, has announced the closing of its third fund, valued at €300 million. The money will be used to support fintech and insurtech startups in their early and growth stages.

The newly growing climate fintech industry will also benefit from the new funds, as the firm strives to become Europe’s leading VC in this sector. The current fund boosts their overall fund size to €550 million, with Commerzbank returning as the sole LP.

CommerzVentures was founded in 2014 and has already invested in 28 startups. CommerzVentures continues to invest with a worldwide vision, focusing on Europe, Israel, and the United States, as part of their strategy of finding exceptional founder teams with the drive to solve billion-dollar challenges.

“We are proud and grateful to our portfolio of companies we have worked alongside, now including almost a dozen current and future unicorns. With our third, €300m fund, we are thrilled to continue establishing CommerzVentures as one of most successful early-stage FinTech VCs with roots in Europe.”
