Bulgarian railways opens 13.7m tender

Bulgaria’s National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) has opened a tender worth 26.7 million levs ($14.7 million/13.7 million euro) for the modernisation of the telecommunications systems on the railway line that connects the northern cities of Ruse and Gorna Oryahovitsa.

The contract has been divided into two stages, covering the supply and construction of an optical cable connection, digital telecommunications systems, and a centralised management, diagnostics, and control system for all subsystems on the railway section.

The NRIC has stated that bids for the tender will be accepted until May 26, and the project is expected to take up to 990 days to complete. Additionally, the NRIC has launched a separate tender worth 10.9 million levs for the installation of a digital telecommunications system on the railway section between the capital Sofia and the northwestern towns of Mezdra and Cherven Bryag.
