bolt taps Pathpoint for E&S integration

InsurTech firm bolt, based in Singapore, has joined forces with digital wholesaler Pathpoint to launch an end-to-end digital experience for small commercial excess & surplus (E&S) insurance. bolttech has developed a B2B2C insurance exchange that connects distributors and customers with insurers. It offers businesses in and outside of the insurance industry a range of insurance products to meet evolving protection and insurance requirements in the digital age. It operates in more than 30 markets across Asia, Europe and the US.

Pathpoint’s small commercial E&S is now integrated into bolt Access, bolt’s wholesale agency digital placement platform, which means that insurance agents using the platform to place small commercial insurance can obtain quotes for non-admitted markets immediately, rather than having to find wholesale brokers. bolt Access agents now have the capability to offer their clients non-admitted general liability, commercial package, excess liability coverage across several verticals such as contractors, vacant buildings and land, lessor’s risk, and restaurants.

Jim Dwane, CEO of bolt, said the partnership with Pathpoint extends the company’s market-leading insurance exchange capabilities, offering bolt Access agents a more comprehensive range of options. Dwane added that the collaboration will enable agents to meet the evolving needs of their clients more quickly and easily, with less effort. Meanwhile, Alex Bargmann, CEO of Pathpoint, said the shared mission of the two companies is to provide a technology-first solution to thousands of insurance agents seeking to find optimal coverage for their clients.

bolt’s P&C core platform is run by global insurance software solutions provider, Sapiens. Last year, bolttech was recognised as a world-leading embedded insurance provider. Its insurance exchange platform, which connects insurers with distributors and their clients, aims to help businesses both inside and outside of the insurance industry to offer insurance products that meet the evolving needs of their customers in the digital age. The bolt Access platform is used by agents to place small commercial insurance quickly and easily, with bolt’s partnership with Pathpoint expanding its capabilities.
