BNP Paribas unveils fintech for marketplace payments

BNP Paribas, in collaboration with Startup Studio 321, has unveiled Panto, a fintech venture designed to facilitate marketplace payments for European B2C e-commerce players, with a particular focus on marketplaces that are customers of BNP Paribas. This venture operates through a full-service plug-in API and aims to serve as a leading player in marketplace payment solutions, contributing to the platformisation of commerce.

Panto’s CEO, Guillaume Massis, has a background in mobile payments fintech, having co-founded Airtag. The fintech has set high standards for integration, functionality, and technology while aiming to offer competitive pricing. It has a strong emphasis on providing a robust solution to meet the needs of European marketplaces.

Panto is expected to launch in the first half of 2024, and until it obtains payment institution approval, it will operate as an agent of BNP Paribas. This initiative aligns with the growing demand for efficient and streamlined payment solutions in the e-commerce and marketplace sectors, where BNP Paribas seeks to play a pivotal role.
