BlackRock pulls in €1.4bn for 4th infrastructure fund

Global Infrastructure Solutions 4 (GIS 4) is BlackRock Real Assets’ latest private infrastructure equity fund, and it has raised €1.4 billion.

The firm announced that its infrastructure multi-manager investment arm, BlackRock Infrastructure Solutions, has closed GIS 4 after collecting capital commitments from institutional investors in Europe, North America, and the Asia Pacific.

GIS 4 focuses on brownfield infrastructure investments in developed economies that benefit from long-term secular trends including digitization, decarbonisation, and decentralisation.

According to the fund’s manager, about half of the fund’s cash has already been invested.

Serge Lauper, the global head of BlackRock Infrastructure Solutions, said: “We are delighted to have reached a successful final close for our flagship multi-manager infrastructure fund.

”We believe this result reflects strong investor demand for increasing their infrastructure allocations to quality portfolios, especially given the attractive characteristics of the asset class and alignment with long-term sustainability objectives.”
