AfDB lauds Biden’s investment efforts in Africa

Chinelo Anohu, Senior Director of the African Development Bank’s Africa Investment Forum, welcomed the Biden administration’s efforts to channel investment into Africa, citing Prosper Africa as an example of a growing commitment to the continent.

Anohu took part in a virtual Africa Investment Roundtable with Gregory W. Meeks, Chair of the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee; Akunna Cook, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs; Algene Sajery, VP of External Affairs at the US International Development Finance Corporation; and Emmanuel Essis, Minister of Investment Promotion and Private Sector Development of Côte d’Ivoire. The roundtable was held on February 15, 2022.

The roundtable was sponsored by Prosper Africa, a US government business effort, and Hardaway Wire, a political intelligence firm, and gave US investors an opportunity to learn more about the US government’s investment and trade instruments.

Prosper Africa, which was launched in 2019 across 17 US agencies, delivers market knowledge, deal help, finance, and solutions to better business climates for US enterprises and investors.
