ADNOC Gas awards billion dollar contract

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company‘s gas subsidiary, ADNOC Gas, announced on Wednesday the approval of a $3.6 billion contract to enhance its gas processing infrastructure within the United Arab Emirates.

The contract has been awarded to a collaborative effort between National Petroleum Construction Company Co PJSC (NPCC), under the ownership of Abu Dhabi’s state fund ADQ, and Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas, as confirmed by ADNOC Gas in an official statement.

This expansion of gas processing facilities is designed to enable an optimised supply to the Ruwais Industrial Complex situated in the western Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi.

ADNOC Gas’ Maximising Ethane Recovery and Monetisation project seeks to elevate ethane extraction by 35% to 40% from its onshore facilities within the Habshan complex. This will be accomplished by constructing new processing facilities, along with deriving enhanced value from existing feedstock. The project’s outcomes will be directed to Ruwais through a 120-km (75 miles) natural gas liquids pipeline.

ADNOC emphasised that more than 70% of the contract’s total value will contribute significantly to the UAE’s economy.
