Wyoming to receive $2bn From Infrastructure Bill

In November 2021, if the Bipartisan Jobs and Infrastructure Act is passed, Wyoming will get around $1.9 billion in federal cash to deal with a range of problems throughout the state.

Over the course of five years, Wyoming will receive funding totalling $1.8 billion for federal highways, $27 million for electric vehicle charging stations, $100 million to increase broadband access, $25 million for wildfire and cybersecurity protection, $335 million for water infrastructure, and $72 million to support airports, according to a fact sheet released by the White House.

Liz Cheney, a representative from Wyoming, and John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis, both senators from Wyoming, voted against the final measure.

The SBA Region Eight Administrator, Aikta Marcoulier, stated that while Wyoming projects have received funds, they haven’t yet been put out to bid. According to Marcoulier, this is the first time that much money has been made accessible to small firms.

“I want to make sure that our small businesses know that there’s money… So we’re trying to get the word out on that because this is 1.9$ billion that they haven’t had ever before,” Marcoulier said.
