Ontario Fund to invest $175m in KKR India road platform

According to a press announcement, KKR and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board have signed an agreement under which the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board will invest up to $175 million (Rs 1,330 crore) in KKR’s road platform in India, which comprises Highway Concessions One.

A portfolio of 12 road assets makes up KKR’s India road platform. This contains a diverse mix of toll and annuity highways across 11 states and totaling more than 910 kilometers.

The platform has a lot of room to grow, and there are plans in the works to add more assets in the future.

In July 2021, KKR purchased the whole interest of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) in Roadway Concessions One (HC1) and seven highway properties totaling 487 kilometers.
