Emerson plans Green Energy Project in the Middle East

Emerson (Emerson.com) has signed a partnership agreement with SirajPower for the development of a new solar rooftop plant at its the Middle East and Africa Head Office situated in Dubai. This deal is set to produce the largest solar rooftop plant in one location within Jebel Ali.

This large-scale sustainability project is reflective of Emerson’s long-term devotion to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. The firm is keen on promoting decarbonization efforts, while also contributing to the efforts being made across the globe to minimize emissions and improve resource efficiency.

To work alongside SirajPower, Emerson also appointed Clenergize Solar Consultants to act in an advisory capacity, especially to monitor the specifications, tendering, contract management, design reviews, and project management.

The deal was officially finalized at a ceremony held on the 26th of July, at Emerson’s JAFZA facility. Present at the event was Emerson’s Middle East and Africa President Vidya Ramnath and SirajPower’s CEO Laurent Longuet.

The solar rooftop project is slated to go live by the end of the year and SirajPower will be solely responsible for the design, construction, and operation of the plant. It will consist of 5,489 solar panels and span across a roof area of 19,340 sqm, covering four of Emerson’s warehouses and office buildings in Jebel Ali South.

According to a report, “the solar system has a capacity of 2.6 MWp and will produce 3.923 GWh of clean energy annually. This project will reduce Emerson’s carbon emissions by 2,891 metric tons annually.”
