8 Rivers Secures $100M Investment from SK Group

SK Group has announced a $100 million investment in 8 Rivers Capital, LLC, as well as the formation of an 8 Rivers-SK joint venture to focus on decarbonization in Korean and important Asian markets.

With this investment, 8 Rivers becomes the world’s leading Net Zero solutions provider for industrial decarbonization, with breakthrough solutions that are available for deployment today and will help drive global decarbonization through 2050.

IHS Markit announced the investment at S&P Global’s CERA Week, and it is one of the largest single private investments in a carbon capture systems supplier to date.

With SK’s investment, 8 Rivers will be able to grow its world-class research and execution team, as well as expedite the implementation of 8 Rivers’ clean solutions at the speed and scale that customers and governments want around the world.

SK’s technological and engineering capabilities, as a leading South Korean industrial and high-tech conglomerate, will serve as a force multiplier for 8 Rivers, while SK will use the relationship to implement clean projects for its domestic and international operations.
