Leadership Change at London Stock Exchange Group

The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has appointed Pascal Boillat as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective July 1, 2024. Boillat, a seasoned industry veteran, will oversee LSEG’s global operations, enhancing services for both employees and customers. He will also join the executive committee.

Boillat, based in LSEG’s New York office, will report directly to CEO David Schwimmer. He succeeds David Shalders, who served as COO for over four years. Schwimmer thanked Shalders for his contributions, particularly in driving integration and transformation programs following LSEG’s acquisition of Refinitiv.

“Pascal brings a wealth of experience from senior leadership roles in operations and technology at global financial services firms,” Schwimmer stated regarding Boillat’s appointment.

Boillat returns to the industry after a brief hiatus. His distinguished 35-year career includes roles as Group Executive, Enterprise Services, and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he oversaw operations, technology, and data management. He also served as Group CIO for Deutsche Bank and led global capital markets operations technology at Citi Group.
