ITA Airways Secures $240 Million in Financing for New Aircraft

ITA Airways has secured $240 million in private credit financing from AIP Capital, using three new A330-900N aircraft as collateral. The financing, announced by ITA Airways on August 29, is part of the airline’s ongoing fleet expansion strategy.

Chairman Antonino Turicchi emphasised that the deal marks a key step in ITA’s growth, highlighting the airline’s increased credibility with banks and investors. The financing aligns with ITA’s strategy of balancing equity with debt to support its expansion efforts.

Since launching operations in October 2021, ITA Airways has focused on modernising its fleet, with 58% now consisting of new-generation aircraft. This shift has resulted in a 25% reduction in both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

ITA Airways’ fleet currently includes 104 all-Airbus aircraft, with several more on order as part of its continued expansion and modernisation efforts.
