Rolls-Royce Invests £300 Million In Britain

Rolls-Royce will invest £300 million across its UK manufacturing and engineering network, expanding capacity in civil aerospace and defence as demand strengthens across both businesses.

More than £140 million will be directed to Derby, where the group plans new engineering and manufacturing facilities for its civil aerospace operations. A further £150 million will be invested across sites in Bristol, Inchinnan, Rotherham and Ansty, with spending focused on upgrading defence-related operations and increasing production capability.

The latest commitment adds to more than £3 billion invested by Rolls-Royce in the UK since 2023. The company also spent more than £2.8 billion with British suppliers in 2025, underlining the scale of its domestic supply chain and its dependence on specialised engineering and manufacturing partners.

The investment comes as Rolls-Royce benefits from stronger activity across its main divisions. In July, the group reported a 46 per cent increase in underlying operating profit for the first half of the year to £2.5 billion, supported by improved performance in civil aerospace, defence and power systems.

The programme is expected to support skilled employment and expand production capacity at several of the company’s principal UK sites. It also aligns with broader efforts to strengthen domestic aerospace, defence and advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Rolls-Royce’s latest spending therefore extends an investment cycle already reshaping its UK operations. By adding engineering space, upgrading facilities and increasing output capacity, the company is positioning its manufacturing base to support a larger pipeline of commercial and defence work.
