Spain's CaixaBank is advancing its generative AI efforts with the launch of a new project, "GalaxIA," aimed at expanding the technology's use across its operations. This marks the second phase of the bank's generative AI strategy, following the success of its initial "GenIAl" project launched late last year.
The "GalaxIA" initiative will focus on both immediate projects to enhance customer service and longer-term strategic goals, including improving complex business processes like mortgage handling. The project will involve over 100 experts from various fields, including AI, security, cloud, and business operations, drawing talent from CaixaBank and its subsidiaries, including Portugal’s BPI and VidaCaixa.
CaixaBank's initial generative AI applications, which include enhancements to contact center operations and customer service management, will be expanded under this new initiative. The bank is also exploring the use of explainable AI to improve fraud detection and ensure fairness in its AI systems.
