SCB Partners with Sunline to Upgrade Core Banking System

Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Thailand’s oldest bank, has chosen China-based software vendor Sunline to modernise its core banking system and upgrade its IT architecture. This move aligns with SCB’s “Digital Bank with Human Touch” strategy, aiming to improve transaction processing for deposits and loans by enhancing efficiency, stability, security, and scalability.

Kris Chantanotoke, CEO of SCB, emphasised that the new technology will enable the bank to offer tailored financial solutions and seamless experiences to both individual customers and corporate clients. “This will not only strengthen SCB’s core IT infrastructure but also set a new benchmark for the finance industry domestically and globally,” Chantanotoke said.

The integration of the new core banking system is expected to take four years, as SCB moves towards becoming a full-fledged digital banking entity.

Sunline, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, provides a range of solutions to banks and financial institutions worldwide, including big data, foreign exchange, treasury, core banking, and digital banking services. The company serves over 800 customers globally in the banking and finance sector.
