National Bank of Bahrain extends Mastercard deal


The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) and the multinational technology corporation Mastercard have established a strategic seven-year alliance to improve their current product lines and give NBB’s clients a unique, value-added digital experience. The relationship was signed in Paris, France, at the maiden meeting of the MENA Executive Council of Mastercard.

In order to enable NBB provide its clients with a digitally native experience, the partnership and consultancy will lead to the development of a full suite of new premium goods, with a focus on digital-first issuance.

The introduction of credit, debit, and prepaid cards, as well as the integration of Mastercard’s digital solutions into NBB’s cutting-edge loyalty platform, “Points,” as well as other digital solutions provided by both parties, will enhance NBB’s extensive and diverse portfolio through this partnership.

The relationship also involves a credit programme and the introduction of the bank’s top-tier cards, which are geared for ultra-high-net-worth people (UHNWI) and offer unique lifestyle and travel advantages and opportunities. It will be the launch of Mastercard’s World Elite Exclusive portfolio in the market.
