AECOM to advise on rebuilding Ukraine

AECOM, the renowned infrastructure consulting firm, has announced its collaboration with Ukraine’s Ministry for Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development. Under a memorandum of understanding, AECOM will serve as Ukraine’s reconstruction delivery partner, offering infrastructure and program management advisory support to assist the country in achieving its reconstruction objectives.

Recognizing the significance of Ukraine’s reconstruction as a global humanitarian and infrastructure priority, Troy Rudd, AECOM’s CEO, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to partner with Deputy Prime Minister Kubrakov and the Ukrainian government. AECOM aims to contribute to the successful implementation of Ukraine’s long-term recovery ambitions by adopting an early engagement approach, comprehensive programmatic strategies, and international collaboration between governments and the private sector. The focus will be on restoring and modernising Ukraine’s infrastructure.

AECOM will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts by aiding the Ministry in designing and establishing an overall program management approach. Leveraging their technical expertise in program management, AECOM will facilitate the timely execution of various interconnected reconstruction projects. Furthermore, the company will provide infrastructure advisory support to the Ministry, promoting opportunities for public and private investors to participate in Ukraine’s future infrastructure reconstruction.

In addition to the partnership with the Ministry, AECOM has also signed a memorandum of cooperation with Ukraine’s State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure. This agreement focuses on advancing preliminary integrated cost estimating and providing engineering support for complex and critical infrastructure projects in Ukraine. The collaboration encompasses activities aimed at transitioning Ukraine to internationally recognised standards for cost estimation, establishing sound procurement practices, and delivering integrated consulting engineering services.

AECOM’s involvement in Ukraine’s reconstruction builds upon their extensive experience in similar initiatives worldwide. With a multi-decade track record of participating in reconstruction projects, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, and post-natural disaster recovery efforts in various countries, AECOM brings a wealth of expertise to support Ukraine’s journey towards recovery, resilience, and long-term development.
